The Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre is launching a new Youth Workshop Summer Series geared toward high school students (grades 9–12) which will culminate in a performance of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream for family and friends.
Instructed by professional teaching artists, the series is designed to provide an immersive and hands-on experience behind putting on professional theater productions. Throughout the workshop, students will receive a well-rounded experience that includes casting, costuming, stage combat, directing, set design, and more.
The workshop meets June 27 through July 1 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., and July 5–9 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream will be on Sunday, July 10.
Tuition is $500 per student and space is limited. For more information about the workshop, contact the education director, Rebekah Wilcox, at 215-496-9722 ext. 103 or rebekah@phillyshakespeare.org.
